Tal Gafny

Tal Gafny (b. 1984, Jerusalem) is an artist who lives and works in Tel Aviv – Yafo. She graduated from the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design’s Department of Art in 2010, and in 2014 completed her master’s degree in the Department of Sculpture and Extended Media at Virginia Commonwealth University. In 2019 she won the Young Artist Award from the Ministry of Culture and Sports.

Other awards and grants include a grant from The Yehoshua Rabinovich Foundation for the Arts, a Mifal HaPais grant for a new work of art, an artist-teacher scholarship from the Ministry of Culture and Sports, the Yaakov Bar-Gera Prize and nominations for the Keshet Award for Contemporary Art. Gafny has participated in residency programs for artists such as the Watermill Center in New York, GuestHaus Residency in Los Angeles, the Scottish Sculpture Workshops and more. She is currently teaching at HaMidrasha and working at the Artists Residence in Herzliya as part of a three-year residency program.
