Eli Ashkenazi, Dr.
Lecturer at the Department of Geography and the Department of Israel Studies
Dr. Eli Ashkenazi is a researcher active in education, teaching, and research relating to the connections between geology, topography, and soil and human activities over history and in the present day, particularly in the context of flora. He received his PhD from the Department of Soil and Water Sciences at the Faculty of Agriculture, Food, and the Environment in the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. His doctoral thesis examined the survival of fruit trees in abandoned orchards planted by Bedouin and by the earlier residents of the Central Negev Mountain, and the impact of geological, geographical, and anthropological factors in this process.
